Policies
This site will be updated to display the Karate America Wis Rapids policies for each of these areas. In the meantime, please contact Scott Blanke if you have any questions or concerns.

You will learn American Sport Karate, taught in a fast paced, fun environment

 The instruction will include a wide variety of lessons/topics

 Classes are organized with students grouped & taught according to the students’ skill level

 Instruction is scaled to the students’ ability level

 You will have a choice of class times, and may attend as many, or as few, classes as you like during a calendar month

 To attain the highest possible safety, you will practice and perform on state-of-the-art martial arts training mats and use a variety of protective shields/pads and gear as needed  — all while being supervised by trained Black Belt assistants and instructors.

   Self Defense
   Sparring
   Competitive Forms
   Certain Weapons (with instructor approval and supervision)
   Board Breaking (with instructor approval & supervision)
   Flexibility & balance
   Self control
   Focus 
   Responsibility 
   Common courtesy & respect for others

 You will learn, you will become more physically fit, you will gain balance and flexibility, you will gain respect for yourself and for others, and while doing all of this — you will have FUN!

Safety & respect
Number one rule - safety first.  Respect others.  Golden Rule!

Sparring
    Critical safety rules must be observed - complete policy available in office  **Students are required to own and use all required sparring gear in sparring class.
    Required gear consists of: 
        -Head Gear, Mouth Guard, Hand Gear, Feet Gear
    Suggested gear
        -Face Cage, Rib Guard, Male or Female Groin Protector, 
         Shin Pads (no hard shell), Elbow Pads (no hard shell)

Weapons
    Critical safety rules must be observed - complete policy available in office

Families, visitors, friends
    WELCOMED! and encouraged

Tournaments
    Encouraged.  Required to compete twice prior to becoming Black Belt

Tuition Payments
    Due on the 1st of month, in advance

Students are required to wear full uniforms during class. This includes Gi Top, Gi Bottom, and Belt. During allowed months t-shirts can be worn but only if they are Karate America Wisconsin Rapids t-shirts or t-shirts approved by Mr. Henkel. T-shirts can be worn through-out the year at sparring classes, conditioning classes, Tai-Chi classes, tricks classes, and at Star Squad & Special Forces classes.

If a student does not have proper attire they can take class but will not receive credit on attendance card.

If a student is more than 10 minutes late for a class they will be allowed to take class but not receive credit on attendance card.

Students may not attend Black Belt Team classes until they have committed to black belt, paid Black Belt Team fees, and have received their blue uniform.

You must be green belt or higher to join Black Belt Team.

Only single nunchuck, speed chux, and bo staff are allowed for under black belt training. All other weapons will be learned at black belt classes or private lessons with Mr. Henkel.

All four stripes (3 black and 1 red) are required for promotion testing along with test fee. Adults are not awarded stripes. Adults are allowed to test when their name appears on the monthly test list.

Mr. Henkel observes the right to promote any student at anytime.

No food is allowed in the karate school unless approved by Mr. Henkel or Mr. Scott Blanke.

No clothes, bags, or weapons are allowed to be stored at the karate school unless approved by Mr. Henkel or Mr. Scott Blanke.

Students may take classes that are below their rank but may not take classes that are above their rank.

Cell phones must be silent during classes.

No jewelry may be worn during class that would harm individual or others.

Karate America Wisconsin Rapids LLC observes all right to deny instruction if policies are not followed and fees are not paid.
