- KAWR will be closed 9/4-9/6 for Labor Day

- Tournament Prep Class will be held during the Specialty Class time on Friday 9/10 & 9/24 @ 6:15.

- Special Forces is performing for a benefit on 9/11 @ 2pm at the Lunch By The River Site.

- Promotion Test for September will be held 9/17 KinderKickers @ 5:30 all Other Belts @ 6:00.  Test list will be posted soon.

-1st & 2nd Degree Black Belt Pre-Test will be held on 9/18 at KAWR starting @ 1 pm.  All are welcome to come and support.

- Southern Wisconsin Open Tournament in Verona is on 9/25 & 9/26.  Info posted at school but can also be viewed at www.southernwisconsinopen.com.  We hope everyone can make it down to compete or spectate.

- 1st & 2nd Degree Black Belt Test will be held on 10/2 @ Noon in the McMillian Library Fine Arts Center.  No regular classes will be held this day.  Everyone is encouraged to attend and support our candidates!

Karate America Just Joined The Presidential Fitness Challenge.  To join go to http://www.presidentschallenge.org/ and register.  Our Group Name is Karate America Wisconsin Rapids.  Our Group ID Number is 87589.  When you register it will ask for your group member name/id  - you create that, for instance mine is sconniet.  Hope to see everyone join.  I will keep checking the website to see who has signed up and how they are doing!  Download Info Booklet Here 

• T-Shirts can be worn to all classes starting May 1st.  They MUST be Karate America Wisconsin Rapids T-Shirts.  Gi tops may still be worn and must be worn to all testing and tournaments
• Reminder that students are not to leave their bags, uniforms, weapons, gear, etc... in the changing rooms.  Staff are allowed. 
  It makes it much easier to clean!
  
• Private lessons!  YES - you may schedule private lessons with 4th Degree Black Belt and Master Instructor, Mr. Henkel.  Prices effective 1/1/09 are $60 for one hour, or $30 for a half hour (additional $15 per extra student). See Mr. Henkel to schedule a lesson when there are no regular classes/practices.  The one-on-one private instruction is a terrific opportunity to refine your techniques and gain better understanding of your training.
